Incentive for on-site electric charging stations

Electric commercial vehicles are rapidly gaining popularity, and more and more companies are considering the transition to zero-emission vehicles. A crucial aspect of this transition is the availability of charging infrastructure. To support companies in this, the Dutch government has announced two new subsidy schemes.

Subsidy scheme for private charging infrastructure at companies

This scheme is aimed at companies that want to install charging stations on their own premises. Entrepreneurs can be reimbursed part of the cost of purchasing and installing charging stations. The amount of the subsidy varies depending on the size of the company and the capacity of the charging station:
SMEs: Up to 40% of the costs are reimbursed.
Large companies: Up to 20% of the cost will be reimbursed.
In addition, a counter will be set up on the website of the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), where entrepreneurs can go for questions about charging infrastructure and to apply for subsidies for customised advice. This counter offers support and advice, allowing companies to get started installing charging stations in a better informed way.

Public charging infrastructure for heavy road transport

This subsidy scheme is aimed at creating a comprehensive network of charging points for heavy vehicles, such as electric trucks. The government wants to accelerate the rollout of charging infrastructure for the logistics sector and provide more charging security for electric trucks. Investing in public charging points for heavy road transport will promote the transition to emission-free transport.

Benefits of the new schemes

With these new schemes, the government wants to encourage companies to invest in their own electric charging infrastructure. This has several advantages:
Environmental benefits: Electric vehicles do not emit pollutants, contributing to cleaner air and a better environment.
Cost savings: Although the initial investment can be high, companies can save on fuel costs and maintenance in the long run.
Future-proofing: With the growing demand for electric vehicles, a good charging infrastructure ensures that companies are future-ready.
These schemes make it more attractive and feasible for companies to switch to electric transport. This is not only good for the environment, but can also contribute to cost savings and the sustainable positioning of companies in the market.
The Dutch government is encouraging companies to invest in electric charging infrastructure through new subsidy schemes. Whether on-site charging stations or public charging points for heavy road transport, these initiatives support the transition to emission-free transport. This offers both environmental and business benefits, and helps put the Netherlands on the road to a greener future.
